1 Thing about Drive

Is Drive a good movie? Wait, that’s not the right question. The right question is this: am I impressed by Drive? Yes. Yes, I am. Drive is a film of such visceral, pulpy, neo-noir-like deliciousness, that it’s hard not to think that I’m SUPPOSED to be impressed by Drive, in a showy, and almost empty way. So is Drive a good movie? After some thought, I’d have to say that it’s maybe only a good to very good movie, not a great or amazing movie, and most definitely not a meaningful, or maybe even an important one. But it’s a damn fine piece of entertainment, as much as it may not be the cinematic revelation that the whole world seemed to tout it to be when it debuted at Cannes, or as the year-end lists come pouring in.

Blah blah blah. Soundtrack, lack of dialogue, Albert Brooks. You don’t need another review of this movie. Go read one of the billion ones online that are much better than mine. That’s my personal opinion.
